[Video] (if a bit backdated)

[ The feed switches on and the first thing you'd see is the close up face of a Cyndaquil, making noises and moving its little arms at the screen until a voice pops in. ]

Axel, what are you doing? [ A pause, and the PokeGear is picked up, moving to show Xion next. She's propped against a wall, most likely sitting on something, but the thing that could be noticeable on her is the gauze pad covering most of her left cheek. She blinks at the screen, then looks back down where the Cyndaquil would be. ]

I guess I should show a bit of my progress... [ There's an affirmative chirp before she fully turns her attention to the PokeGear. ] I finally arrived at Cherrygrove. I'm in a PokeCenter right now.

[ She pauses as she presses a button on her Gear. ] It's still a little while before I get to Violet... [ And she does have to wait for Cecil. ] But we'll get there.

[ Axel is making more noise, almost as though it wants more attention, and Xion smiles slightly, turning to him. ] We made some progress, didn't we? [ Then she turns the screen to show her Cyndaquil waving happily, his flames a bit bigger and brighter on his back. ]

Leon told me the same thing, but... I just didn't want him to get too hurt. [ Looks down at Axel. ]

Don't worry about it. The wild Pokémon on the early routes are pretty weak; he should be able to handle them.

I'm starting to believe that... He was breathing fire earlier!

Most fire types do. Should come in handy, as long as you're not facing rock or water types.

I shouldn't just stick with him, right?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
If you can, try catching some other Pokémon. It'll come in handy later.

[ Nods. ] Sora also said he'd give me back a Pokemon I had from the time I was here before... [ So that's two for her slowly growing team! ]

So he's giving Bell back. Well, that should help, but I still recommend catching a few others, especially if you plan to take the Gym challenge.

[identity profile] ordalias.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
About that, Riku... Does the Gym challenge have anything to do with a Champion?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods.]

Apparently if you collect all eight badges, you can take on a champ. The thing is, you have to travel all over Johto to face the Gym leaders.

[identity profile] ordalias.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
Is that what you're doing, too?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I haven't gone to a new city in a while, but that's mainly becuase of the weather. Plus, Sora and Kairi still haven't fought the first two Gym Leaders.

[identity profile] ordalias.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
So you're going to wait until they catch up to you?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I need to go back to Azalea Town, anyway. I have three badges now, but I never got around to getting the Hive Badge.

[Ah, that reminds him...]

If you're planning to take the Gym Challenge, it'd be good to catch a rock or electric type. It'll make the first gym much easier.

[identity profile] ordalias.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
A rock or electric type... Are any of that on the road from Cherrygrove to Violet City?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
You should be able to find a rock type if you look in the dark cave. It's on the way to Violet City.

[identity profile] ordalias.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it looks like I'll be going through that way. But I've heard others mention this "shortcut"...?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-02-15 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
There's a shortcut between Goldenrod City and Violet that only takes a few days. Go the long way, and it takes weeks to get there.

[identity profile] ordalias.livejournal.com 2011-02-15 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Weeks... [ Looks a bit crestfallen at that. She wanted to try and meet up with Roxas and the others as soon as possible. ]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Aw, poor Xion. He didn't mean to upset her.

...Hmm.]

Tell you what. If you want to get to Goldenrod quicker, I could use my squirt bottle and open the path for you.

[identity profile] ordalias.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Your... squirt bottle? How?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
There's a Pokémon blocking the way, but it hates water. Spray a little on it, and it'll move.

[identity profile] ordalias.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Will it keep away for a while? [ She'll still have to go through Violet, meet up with some people, and then go. ]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
I could always wait until you take off, and we could meet halfway. If you can't find anyone else to open the path, just let me know.

[identity profile] ordalias.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. I'll contact you when I'm there. Thank you, Riku.
