Is... Is this thing on? [ The video feed shows her picking up the PokeGear and lifting it up closer to her face as she scans it curiously. Shakes it a little before letting out a small sigh and her finger comes up to press more buttons, and she blinks, as a minimap appears on the screen. ]

... "the world of Pokemon." [ She frowns a bit. ] But what am I supposed to do? How am I even... here?

[ Her expression dissolves into a thoughtful as she continues to scan the map, a dot on the map indicating her position. Then she looks off to the side, to the road nearest to her, before turning back to screen. ]

This thing doesn't seem like it'll give me answers... [ Reaches up to slowly turn the PokeGear off. ]

That's right.

[Right then, onto the next bit about Pokémon.]

Every Pokémon has its own type. The one you've got right now is a Fire Type, but there's a lot more. Water, grass, normal... even ghosts. They all have strengths and weaknesses, so it's good to keep a balanced team.

Everyone here's powerless, and weapons are impossible to get. A strong Pokémon's a good substitute; they'll keep you safe.

Wild Pokémon can be pretty aggressive, and they get stronger the further you go from Newbark Town. Plus there's a group called Team Rocket. I don't know much about them, but apparently they're a big deal.

Can my Pokemon get stronger, then? [ She'd hate to be caught unawares and vulnerable while she's still trying to get used to this place. ]

They all can. All it takes is some training; if you let them battle other Pokémon, they won't just get stronger. Sometimes they'll pick up new attacks.

[And, hmm... to demonstrate the wonders of training, he'll send out his Charizard, who... looks at the camera with a snort. Hello, not!Kairi.]

Keep training, and your Pokémon should evolve. Most evolve at least once, sometimes twice.

First evolution happens around level sixteen, usually. It'll take a few weeks to get there.
