[ Is that a distorted, but may be recognizable voice? Why, yes, maybe, to those who know her. There's heavy breathing, but it distances itself from the Gear, and there's surprised sounds from a Togekiss, Typhlosion, and Gabite in the background.

Xion shakes her head. No, no, this can't be happening. Wait, she knew this place might have had a chance for something like this, but... A-Ahhghhh... She holds up hands that aren't human, gold talons moving at her will...

Fix this... Have to fix...

Swish swish swish. Clothes are being put on. Then: ]

I need... I need help. With something. Please.

[ Maybe it doesn't have to be Roxas this time. Maybe it could be Sora. Or Ven. Or anyone. ]

[ooc: 4TH WALL EVENT! GUESS WHO'S GOING TO TRY AND FIND SOMEONE TO FINISH HER? She'll be under her hood, and underneath she'll look... like this. Just maybe not gigantic. And it can be anyone. Corridors of Darkness can be convenient in traveling around, why can't Johto just allow that...

So yeah! If you're up for a fight, or just to convince this derp and stop her dead (hah) in her tracks from setting on a selfdestruction path... by all means! ]

[Lightning slowly shakes her head at that, peering through her bangs at Xion.]

I don't see anything wrong with you. You're still the same person you were yesterday and there's nothing wrong with that.

[ Distorted, growled out outburst. That same hand flings itself to the side, and summons her Keyblade, but she makes no other motion than shaking her own head. ]

[The sight of the weapon in Xion's hand has Lightning's stance shifting from casual to defensive, but she holds her ground and doesn't step back or closer. She just looks at Xion, not caring about the outburst, no matter how curious the distortion has her.]

Then explain what you think is wrong. And I mean actual answers; no dancing around my questions this time.

I hurt others... I hurt my friends, simply by existing. [ The longer she's with someone, the more she can absorb their powers, as is the case with this Replica, here. Why won't you understand, Lightning? She's not meant to be and she wants to say that, but... ]

I can't let that happen. I don't want a repeat of home.

[Hurt friends simply by existing. That sounds too much like the time Hope nearly gave up on himself and Lightning doesn't like that. She's just going to take a step towards Xion now.]

It won't be. Xion, we can help you. You just have to let us.

[Is she talking about now or all of Xion's other tendencies? Hard to say for sure. But she's still stepping closer. Clanking the entire way, too.]

[ So much for stealth. But at Lightning's words, Xion's almost spastic movements cease... Underneath the dark, blank shadow of her hood, she's staring straight at Lightning as the other woman walks closer. ]

... I am letting you.

[ Take a step closer, Lightning, and she'll go into her battle stance, Keyblade at the ready. ]

[Lightning sees the movements stop, but she doesn't hesitate even as she finally, finally, gets what Xion is trying to do. Yeah, that weapon? Gone in a flurry of feathers. The shield stays, but the sword is now gone and she continues to walk forward.]

Letting yourself be killed isn't going to help you. Have you thought about how the person who does it will feel?

[ A pause, but she remains firm where she stands. Back, Lightning. If not you, then... ]

I did, and it's for the best. This is what has to be done to make things right, Lightning!

[ Sora made mention of his memories. He's afraid of losing them. Guess who's holding onto some of them? ]

[Not back. Forward. Always forward, even if she's got to get hit a few times.]

Right according to who? No one's life is worth less than anyone else's.

[Xion, of course. But Lightning doesn't know any of that because Sora hasn't spilled any beans to her.]

[ When she gets too close, Xion swings at that shield and back off a couple of more steps. Might be a big stronger than usual, given the amount of power she absorbed at this point. She doesn't want to hurt Lightning if she won't mercy kill her. Maybe she should summon a Corridor of Darkness... ]

That's true... to you. But for me, I can't...

[ Can't comprehend a life made by someone who shouldn't have existed in the first place to be allowed to exist at all? ]

[An impact that strong would have normally sent Lightning stumbling or nearly to the ground, but the shield takes the brunt of the force and she just keeps walking with only a shift to her step.

She just keeps on going. Like the Energizer Buneary, really. If Xion runs, she'll follow as long as she can.]

Can't what? Can't even try? Can't realize that there are people who would be hurt more by your death than by you being around them? Because that's what it looks like you're doing.

[ In a break of their current routine, Xion actually charges forward and slams the Keyblade against Lightning's shield and pushing against her. ]

I want to be with them... I want to be with you, with my friends... But I'll just hurt them even worse.

]On the one hand, Xion's finally stopped running. On the other, that impact has enough force to shove Lightning back a few paces, making furrows in the dirt as she holds her shield steady.]

Do you think any of us care about that? We're your friends, and we'll take that chance knowing full well what we might be getting into!

[ Xion's body is shaking with... anger? Frustration, more like, and with desperation.

She shakes her head. ] I'm not taking that chance. I'm not going to hurt those I care about further. [ Whether physically or emotionally.

With her free hand, Xion summons a Corridor of Darkness and faces away from Lightning. ]

[Whatever it's shaking with, Lightning can both see and feel it, and the moment the girl turns to leave, a bolt of lightning slams down in front of the Corridor. It probably won't even slow Xion down, but it's going to have to do.]

Then what? You run away and find someone else to kill you? You don't think that's going to hurt them the most? You never get over taking a life, Xion. Never.

[ The crackle of lightning does succeed in stopping Xion from taking a step into the Corridor. She stops to consider many things in this situation, then slowly turns back to face Lightning. ]

You won't remember.

[ She grips her Keyblade tighter. ]

You won't have to remember this. No one will. It'll be okay.

Just because we won't remember doesn't mean it's okay. It won't make you trying to get yourself killed any better!

[Oh dear. Now Lightning's getting quite angry, and it shows as she stalks forward, little sparks of electricity jumping between her fingers like she's ready to throw another bolt at any second.]

Just because we won't remember doesn't mean you won't be gone if you actually manage to do this! We won't have answers and that's going to destroy a part of all of us. Do you understand that?

[ It doesn't scare her that Lightning's getting angry. It's understandable, really. She's acting like Axel did, doing what they felt was right, no matter what Xion had to say in the matter. Their view of right versus Xion's view of what is right... ]

So... what are you going to do? [ She knows she's skipped the last question, but it doesn't matter. It won't for long. Her own hand is summoning swirls of darkness, ready to unveil her real form.

But she wonders what Lightning's going to do. Axel defeated her and brought her back to a place he thought would work. Hah. "Work." ]

[Xion's view of right is right to her. But to Lightning, and undoubtedly to Axel as well, losing a friend doesn't make anything okay.]

I'm going to help you find another way out of this. There's always another way. If there wasn't I wouldn't be here right now!

[Lightning's tone is colored with experience; she's not lying just to get Xion to listen and stay put as she walks closer. She's not that kind of woman.]

So you can save me? [ It's called in a near shout, and her cloak comes off, revealing a body that no longer resembles a human. It's all distinctly... Sora-like, if Lightning looks close enough. ]

[The surprise of seeing Xion like that makes Lightning stop dead in her tracks. She sees the hint of resemblance to Sora, but other than that, seeing someone she cares about no longer the human she knew...it brings up too many memories.

Too many nightmares of what she could have become.]

So I can help you. If that means pinning you to the ground until you see that this isn't the only way, I'll do that, too.

[ She holds her head, feeling of wave of nausea that quickly disappears. Does Lightning understand now? Sure, she avoided a similar fate, but Xion lived and died through it. It's the only way she knows how. ]

That's... [ It's a soft-spoken growl, a near plea of desperation before she shakes her head. Now both hands are holding twin, pink Keyblades, holding them out in a battle stance. ]

I don't want you to hold back. [ I'm sorry, Lightning. ]

[Again, Lightning shakes her head as she stands, arms hanging at her sides while she peers through her bangs at Xion. No weapon, and she won't bring up her shield. She's not fighting back.]

You're going to have to get me to fight you first. Let's see if you can do that.

Fine!

[ She's charging, Lightning, far faster than the small, thin girl you used to know. She's bringing her right arm in a swing at that shield, then following it with a thrust of her other arm. All towards the shield. ]

[The shield which Lightning does end up bringing up, but still no attack. Xion can push her back into a tree or down onto her knees if she wants, but she won't bring up that blade.]

Going to have to try harder than that.
