[ She's been contemplating this, yes, ever since she got her ass handed back to her by Vanitas. She's lost, sure, many times in fact... but this one in particular... ]
How... when do you know you're strong? That you're not weak?
[ She might end that last sentence in a bitter hiss. Sure, she's lost, but when it involves her friends (and Pokemon), it becomes another thing. She couldn't beat Vanitas, came out even more battered, and well aware her appearance would worry friends. So lately she's been hanging around the roof of Goldenrod City's Department Store.
It sounds like she's going to say more, but whatever it is dissolves into a sigh and stops. ]

I won't. I'm not going to accept that. [ There's an edge of determination, yet bitterness when she responds back. While his overall answer didn't seem the friendliest of sorts, it's still an answer, something to mull over. ]
[audio]
Oh? And what will that change? Will your total nonacceptance a reality really change it? Will your fuckin' delusions do anythin' but offer you some fictitious solace? Hahaha, you're as bad as that witch with her fraudulent magics, I swear you humans are all the same.
Not worth the life that's put into ya. You're all fuckin' incorrigible wastes, ewery last one a ya.

[ It's here that she sounds visibly angry, but she's keeping it sort of restrained. Not like anger would actually serve her anything over the net. ]
[audio]
[His tone stays even, obviously no real anger on his end, just a calm tone that seems more provocative than anything else.]
Just trust my word, I know these things and you're glarin'ly obwious in where you're meant to be when it comes to place--or when it boils down to who's strong and who isn't. It's easier to just accept it.
[Eridan's pretty confident in this, when he comes from a race that kills you for being too weak and all, he's got a pretty good idea on the topic. or so he thinks, anyway.]
[audio]
Still. ]
That may be what you think, and that's yours alone... But it's my decision whether or not to accept it.
I don't.
[ Oh, she sounds calmer now, too. Besides, she's heard much worse than what he's currently spouting now. ]
I'll get stronger. It's a "rare case," but it still happens, doesn't it?
[audio]
[A laugh, however dry.]
I said there are rare cases, yeah, but you hawe to hawe the potential first, and you hawe none.
[audio]
[ There's challenge in her tone, but then it fades away into a sort of... sardonic scoff. ]
Actually... thanks.
[audio] 1/2 Sorry for the late tag!
[audio] 2/2
[He sounds genuinely curious, as if he can't really fathom any reason as to WHY she'd be thanking him right now.]
[audio] no worries about being late!
[ Said like it's so simple. ]
