[ The feed switches on and the first thing you'd see is the close up face of a Cyndaquil, making noises and moving its little arms at the screen until a voice pops in. ]

Axel, what are you doing? [ A pause, and the PokeGear is picked up, moving to show Xion next. She's propped against a wall, most likely sitting on something, but the thing that could be noticeable on her is the gauze pad covering most of her left cheek. She blinks at the screen, then looks back down where the Cyndaquil would be. ]

I guess I should show a bit of my progress... [ There's an affirmative chirp before she fully turns her attention to the PokeGear. ] I finally arrived at Cherrygrove. I'm in a PokeCenter right now.

[ She pauses as she presses a button on her Gear. ] It's still a little while before I get to Violet... [ And she does have to wait for Cecil. ] But we'll get there.

[ Axel is making more noise, almost as though it wants more attention, and Xion smiles slightly, turning to him. ] We made some progress, didn't we? [ Then she turns the screen to show her Cyndaquil waving happily, his flames a bit bigger and brighter on his back. ]

After he left the Organization, Sora still needed him in order to be complete. DiZ... ordered Riku to capture him, and he was hidden in a virtual version of Twilight Town until the time they would merge. I was tasked to temporarily erase his memories and implement false ones, so he can live peacefully in the virtual town while I worked on Sora's memories, and to keep him away from the Organization.

[And she lets out a sigh at that.]

I guess I really am just a tool.

[ It was bound to surface. ]

[ Translation: don't. Do it. And with that--he softens a bit. ]

Any more questions, Xion?

[ Has a moment to think if she does have any other questions... Oh, right. ]

Do you have any information on Champions?

[ ??? ]

[ She actually remembers seeing the moment where Riku got Roxas, but after that... Well, at least Roxas stopped him from going on the self-destructive path. Though, in essence, it was sort of wrong, at least Roxas got a reprieve... before joining Sora, too. ]

I don't think so. [ A beat. ] And in here, all of that doesn't matter, right?

Some people mentioned something about a Champion... and that the badges from Gyms could be necessary to become a Champion.

Mm. I'm glad we're all here.

[And she promptly shuts up before saying anything else. Sometimes knowing too much really is terrible.]

[ He shakes his head. ]

Your guess is as good as mine. First time I've heard of a 'Champion'.

[ He doesn't exactly get the badges with a goal in mind; he just...needs something to keep him busy, and badges accomplish that perfectly. ]

I once heard there are over one hundred Pokemon!

Oh... [ Looks down for a moment, but it's nothing that bad. Her curiosity just wanted to see if there was anything about a Champion that Leon knew, since he seemed to be here longer. ]

I don't think I have any more questions...

[ Nods in agreement at that. Well... sort of. ] I still want to go back. [ Even though going back means going back to Sora. ]

[ Wide eyed now. ] O-Over a hundred... wow.

Hey, what happened?

[Serious face is very serious. ...that goes double for the fluffy Eevee on his head, but for different reasons.]

I didn't know him very well before I came here either, but there's something about this place... you get to know all sorts of people.

Even if everyone is here... what's happening over there? Is it really okay to just leave it like that?

[ Yeah, she's been thinking about this on her little journey. ]

About two weeks ago, I fell asleep for a whole week. My mind came back home, and everything was just how I left it.

Sora mentioned something like that. [ She looks confused now. ] But time stops when we're gone? How?

No one really knows. But it doesn't seem to cause any inconvenience. We forget all about Johto once we get home. According to some of the people here, this is my third time being Johto. I was sent home twice, they told me. And you too. You were here before. But you left, and now you're here again. And you can't remember the last time you were here.

[... man, her job really IS Ms. Exposition.]

[ Give her a moment to think about this. The mechanics of getting here and moving from here are very strange indeed. So when she went back... time started again. Then, when she was about to return to Sora, she left, and time stopped?

Then Xion pretty much sums up all of that in her next sentence: ] It's confusing.

I know. But that's the only explanation everyone has so far.

[ Nods solemnly. Guess she'll just have to let that go. For now. ]

I'm not sure. When I got here, it was only a few days after that before you disappeared.
